New Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Churchemerged in 1891 in a community dubbed the “Promised Land” amid abackdrop of plantations and cotton fields. The DeKalb Countycongregation first began meeting in a little house perchedalongside the Yellow River. New Bethel seeks to be a “House of God”for any person who comes in.Our Mission:To inspire persons to LOVE God, cultivate a GROWING relationshipwith Jesus Christ and NURTURE individual spiritual resources byTEACHING and EQUIPPING each member to offer their lives in SERVICEto humanity beyond the walls.
